Latacunga and Quilotoa

In the middle of Ecuador on the edge of the Cotopaxi volcano you will find the city of Latacunga. Crossed by the same Pan American Highway. It is a city of step for many people that frequently use this path engaged in commercial activities.

It is an excellent base of operations to organize mountain climbs and is strategically located for trekking in the Quilotoa loop.

In the town that bears the name of this majestic crater, 4000 meters above the sea, Quilotoa has magic deep inside its salty lagoon, which during the day, while the Sun's warm rays illuminate their turquoise waters, its crater shows his greatness, imnotizandote with the dance of colours that emerges from its waters.

Sleep within it, is something special. Protected from the cold Andean nights by the warm embrace offered in its walls, and a sky adorned with thousands of sparkles that decorate the sky, firmament who presides over the Southern Cross.

The wonder of this crater along its slopes, which contaisn not only beauty but also a lifestyle. In which children collaborate in their families, making grazing as an everyday part of their lives.

From the crater descends to Valley, a valley that seems to have been the result of caprice, with its deep canyons that cut these lands.

6 hours of road between these mountains, valleys and canyons that provide relief to this canvas, is the Nice neighborhood of Chuchilan. Waiting to welcome us me and my friend at a warm Inn where gave us a good shower after 2 days of walking between the mountains.

The milkman is always received highly in any town. This is expected in a special way, and his truck offers not only distribution andpurchase of milk to all the villagers of the area. But also, his truck is to become a traditional means of transport to connect with...

After a voyage of faster pace, on the back of his Pick up, with 26 people mounted on its back, along the dusty track that connects with the lonely people of the vilage.
